Socially Engaged Work
As an artist educator I have over 18 years of experience in the creative sector, developing and delivering a wide range of workshops for a variety of differing ages and client groups, in education, healthcare and community settings.
I am passionate about the impact that engagement in the arts can have on wellbeing and I specialise in working with vulnerable and marginalised groups.
As an interdisciplinary artist I devise and deliver projects across a wide variety of art forms, from digital media (including AR/VR technologies), photography, video, installation, animation, through to sculpture, printmaking, felt making, mixed media collage and ceramics. I enjoy exploring creative digital technologies in a visual arts context and my participatory work frequently transforms analogue artwork into digital outputs.
My participatory work has led to my being shortlisted for the Mainframe Digital/Creative Impact Award 2019 and 2021. I have also delivered papers on my participatory work with children and young people at numerous conferences including The Cultural Institute, University of Leeds and The SEN Network conference at The National Gallery, London.
In my role as education curator at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art, I programme, devise and deliver a diverse range of artist workshops for children and young people.
I have worked with numerous organisations across the country including QUAD, Sinfonia Viva, Junction Arts, Engage, The Lowry and Derby Theatre. I am also creative mentor for The Mighty Creatives, working one to one with care experienced young people to engage in cultural activities and develop their creative skills.

Video
Music video co-created with young people KS 2-4. Photographic images were taken by young people during a museum trip. Young people then wrote and recorded a rap and had their eyes and mouths filmed singing their rap. This footage was edited onto the young people images to produce a 'music video' which played when a postcard showing one of the images was scanned.

Augmented Reality
Following a series of stop motion workshops with KS2, using plasticine to explore plants and animals - imagery created by the young people was used to create a set of four postcards which, when scanned, played the young peoples animations.
Augmented Reality
Working with KS3&4 young people produced ceramic books, which was then over layed with a 'story' created in augmented reality.
Augmented Reality
Following a series of workshops where young people wrote a script with an actor, a series of drawing workshops were undertaken to create imagery to accompany the script. The young people were recorded performing the script and this audio, along with the young peoples imagery was used to create three large scale images that when scanned play the whole animated script.
Augmented Reality
Outdoor nursery rhyme trail produced following a series of creative sessions with pre-schoolers. Ducks were placed along a mile long route. When scanned the ducks play an animation and nursery rhyme.
